to the Fortress Bake House

The Fortress Bake House was built by the Prussian Army in the first half of the 19th century. It is located beside the eastern end of the big Defense Barracks. Before WW II the Geman Army there arranged bake shows. After WW II it had been forgotten for decades. After Germany's reunion it was lovingly restored.

The bakehouse is furnished with old German bakery stoves. So great is the demand for the circular loafs that all are quickly sold out. On festive occasions or by special requests the Bakers' Guilt is prepared to arrange baking exhibitions.
