"For the last 2
years I've been living in California again, but my longings and
memories are going back to Germany, in particular to my beautiful
city of Erfurt, which was a metropolis long before Los Angeles
ever existed. Already in the middle ages this city had a
University. Heads of state and royalty met here to negotiate
political issues. Famous men and women who shaped cultural
history in Europe stayed or met here. With its many beautiful
old churches, among them the majestic Main Cathedral and the
Severi-Church, that overtower the City, with its many little
winding streets - some still paved with cobble stones -, with its
"Krämerbrücke" (merchant's bridge) over the
Gera-river and with its many cute little restaurants and beergardens, Erfurt has the flair of a medieval town, but at the
same time offers all the conveniences of the 20th century.
Erfurt certainly is worth a
visit, last but not least because of its loveable
citizens, one of whom is Lutz Volland, who will introduce
you to this beautiful city, its history, it's anecdotes
and its charme ..."
